Media Framework - Audience


A: Higher management, bankers, lawyers, doctors
B: Middle management, teachers, media people (graphic designer)
C1: Office supervisors, nurses, white collar jobs
C2: Skilled manual workers, plumbers, builders, blue collar jobs
D: Semi skilled and unskilled managers
E: Unemployed, students, pensioners, casual workers

Examples: Supermarkets, disposable income, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Aldi

Aspirers: Seek status, materialistic, orientated to image and appearance

Succeeders: Seek control, strong goals, confidence, work ethic, organisation

Resigners: Seeks survival, rigid, interested in past and tradition

Explorers: Seeks discovery, energy and individualism

Strugglers: Seeks escape, alienated and disorganised. Few resources beyond physical skills

Reformers: Seeks enlightenment, freedom restrictions and personal growth, social awareness and independent judgement

What can affect the audience?
Age, ethnicity, gender, situated culture, historical competence, cultural experience
